let's take out everything that made the zelda games so loved (amazing music, unique dungeons, fun enemies and bosses, cool equipment) and replace it with a barren wasteland of an open world thats filled with the exact same mini-dungeons that get boring after like the fourth time you do them, and populated with the same 3 types of enemies. the exploring gets so boring so fast, because it's just the shrines, korok seeds and towers, that are all the same. even the rare unique puzzles just open up another shrine when you complete them
there's no incentive to exploring either, cause your only rewards are health/stamina and ocassionally a rare weapon/armor - but those dont matter, because weapons break after like 4 hits and theres no way to fix them, so your best bet is to just avoid combat altogether.
also, lets make it rain every 10 minutes to to make the best part of the game (the climbing) stop working

yeah you're right, idk i feel like part of it is me making excuses more and more to just not buy a switch cause there just isn't enough games I truly want to play on it. Some cool like arcadey games come out every now and then but their longevity seems mixed at best. I'll probably be one of those people who buys one after a new console release and get all the games and switch discounted considerably. my PC library is insane and I'm not even a quarter through it, ya know?
That's fair. You can also emulate and play the game on PC if that's literally the only switch exclusive you want to play.
The switch is a nifty little device though. I've always had a soft spot for handhelds and having what is essentially a complete console that I can bring with me is pretty cool
oh wasn't even aware switch was emulated? that's sick, that's probably the better option for me because i get serious buyers remorse about things lol. I'm not really a mobile gamer though, so the concept of it doesn't appeal to me as much as having just a solid console
the switch probably won't have a working emulator for a while, but the WiiU has had one for a while now which is how people emulate BOTW.
My computer isn't great, so I didn't really have much luck with it, but apparently with some tweaking you can get it running better than it does on the switch
aw okay makes sense, good lookin out, i'll see if i can't set that up soon. i'd be down to play it in that case for sure, the entry cost for switch and some of the game prices is a bit much for me mostly
Yuzu is a pretty great Switch emulator. BOTW needs some serious tweaking to not run like shit on it, though.
