Were these explicitly Christian or did I only ever see them in church lady households because of demographics
They were like Chicken Soup for the Soul books. Underlying vaguely Christian values with a few overtly religious pieces in the mix
Except pokemon stuff ended up selling for more lol. Have you seen how much the original cards go for?! It's wild.
A lot of the prices of Pokemon cards going up is because millionaire weirdos who invested in baseball cards and comic books and if they're super rich, art. It's basically a price inflation scheme where it's the same few people buying and selling this stuff off each other. It's basically money laundering. Same thing with Super Mario Bros sealed games going for $600k.
Yup. That's what boomers were hoping beanie babies would be.
It sucks because it ruins the card game for people who legitimately want to play it.
They're from the same time. Kids also had beanie babies. Everyone had at least one.
Boomers played with Beanie Babies? I grew up on both Pokemon and BBs in the 90's.
Those were Hummels
These are Precious Moments
Same basic concept of glurgy tchotchkes, but two separate things
Aw, my grandma has these. I know they're kitschy, but also kind of sweet.
I do hate these a lot less than Funko pops. There's something about the dead eyes and soulless recreations of our nostalgia that make them so creepy
Wasn't there a simpsons episode about these stupid things?
