Another highlight:

But these people literally exist. I encountered several.

I explained to one that I'm a social democrat and he said Social Democracy is a moderate form of fascism. I looked it up and it's a Stalin quote or something.

He was mostly a r/genzedong user and posted pictures of himself on r/Snapchad and he was some discount Logan-Paulesque teen.

Just argue with an r/genzedong user and you'll se what I mean.

They are almost like robots playing Stalin catchphrases and acting as if he defines every ideology and that China is the future world leader abd we should submit to being their serfs.

I think a lot it is just an over correction.

Like do I think Stalin did nothing wrong? No, but do I think the USSR was worse than the USA in the same time period? Also no.

Would I say Stalin did nothing wrong in a comment on this Reddit thread? Yes.

People don't understand what he did wrong, and think most of what he did right was wrong. It is so much easier to just say he is perfect because he is so much better than anyone they can produce.

I like Deng's quote about Mao being 70 percent right and 30 percent wrong

I don't think so, he was just saying how most of his mistakes and programs he ended up regretting happened in his later years. Which Mao would happily admit.

The A-B Campaign was pretty horrific, and that was when Mao was just starting out.

I just mean that as you live, your mistakes follow you and you can't undo them, so it's not really a criticism, just that any revolutionary who dies early on tends to be more fondly remembered than the ones that had time to make lots of mistakes.
