People don't understand what he did wrong, and think most of what he did right was wrong. It is so much easier to just say he is perfect because he is so much better than anyone they can produce.

I just mean that as you live, your mistakes follow you and you can't undo them, so it's not really a criticism, just that any revolutionary who dies early on tends to be more fondly remembered than the ones that had time to make lots of mistakes.
