It's red instead of yellow (though the backgrounds also change colour now), the imp's been replaced by Yahtzee's dog and Yahtzee's avatar now looks kinda like Terry Pratchett

Also he mostly liked Alan Wake 2 and recommends it

I don't think he's worn the hat IRL since his twenties, but I can see why the avatar kept it since it gives it more character and works well with the art style. I don't think a ZP style character with a receding hairline and a beard would be as marketable

          :berdly-actually: ACKTUALLY, it's not a fedora, it's a trilby. Very critical difference :berd-up:

At that point it had already become a part of the Yahtzee character and branding of the show. Without the hat he'd just been a generic ZP stick figure

If you wanna talk really embarrassing, check out his avatars he did on his blog when he was in his teens/early twenties

Why yes this is totally not Zero Punctuation.

I would love to see the lawsuit if Escapist comes after him. I have no idea how they could. It's stylistically identical but contains absolutely nothing that Escapist could possibly have actually trademarked or copyrighted

It’s only a matter of time before Gamurs (no I’m not mocking freeze-gamer that is literally the name of Escaptist’s parent company) shutters Eecapist. Even if it was just Yahtzee leaving it would’ve doomed them, but the entire video production team to boot just killed any potential value in the brand.

Yeah, unfortunately they were a big part of the ZP branding. There was an interview Yahtzee and the editor in chief did recently where they mentioned they were discussing the IP situation with Gamurs though and that they seemed a bit more meek after the attention the debacle got

I’m doubtful the modern corp is gonna give up branding even if they know they can never do anything with it, so it makes sense that the IP situation is closed off.

However, I don’t even really play video games anymore and still watch ZP so I and many others are probably gonna watch Yahtzee talk fast over any footage until we die :0707

I can get into the dog. Dogs and imps do just about the same things. What kind of bothers me is that the models don't look as good against a red backdrop.

Just saw a Reddit comment where the editor already said the default red colour is gonna be changed in the next episode.

Not a huge problem since the backgrounds change every section anyway

That's good, because it seems like it's just the wrong shade, like it needs to be slightly brighter and maybe a little less saturated because it's not contrasting against the figures properly.
