Yeah but the main character has a really short skirt and a camera you can control and that makes people think a lot about philosophy.

I zapped through a speedrun and the protagonist loses more and more clothing as the game progresses lmao

I love Metal Gear but the smart stuff isn't really thought through and the dumb stuff is really really dumb. People actually think 4 and 5 were actually well plotted games. The first three are masterpieces, three is the most shallow by a wide margin but it's campy fun and the gameplay is amazing.

I don't think Metal Gear taught me History. I do think it taught me the future though.

The crossover with FF14 is hilarious when you run into a boss repeatedly casting "Marx Smash" at you

I mean 2b is very much not underage and isn't in characterization either.

I have no clue how this relates to the OP, but I support it, Wonderful 101 is a terrific innovative Platinum Games Game. This video is a good intro to it, since its tutorials are infamously light: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pqAAdrSlwws

Platinum Games developed both games but W101 is better in regards to depth and gameplay.

I'm not going to act like I'm incredibly well versed in philosophy, but isn't it literally about existentialism? Finding meaning in your life and what that means?

Spend the game with the protagonists literally programmed for and believing they are fighting against alien robots for humanity but later learn humanity and the aliens have both been extinct for centuries. 9S has an existential crisis and then shifts his purpose to avenging 2B. Etc etc.

Feel like you could go into other subplots and find things too.

Not that the anime/waifu shit should be excused.

yeah that's basically it, honestly if the characters were less robotic (hahaha i made an epic pun there) it probably would have resonated with me but as it stands i just felt continually apathetic to big ass mcgee (ver 1 and 2) and The Jokerfication of One Nine Ess

I played through the game as 2B and thought "That was ok" then the second playthrough started and went "what the fuck is this? are they that lazy" I didn't learn until later than it was a intentional plot thing lol.

honestly i liked the first game better because you got to play as an ogre daddy yelling out "MUH DAUGHTER!!!" every three seconds with laura bailey whomst constantly yells out the f word and a skeleton that acts kawaii and a floating book that has a spot on snape impression, and the whole game is just a 9/11 metaphor

the remake almost interested me until i found out it was based on the lame japanese version where you play as a stereotypical anime boy trying to save his little sister or whatever

the soundtracks of both games fuckin slap tho

It's a good game with an interesting story, but it's not like theory or anything...just a horny robot game that's kinda sad

As a white male, I have to tell you that it's philosophical. I don't want to hear you SJWs talk about how gender essentialism is tackled through Adam and Eve. I don't want to hear about how capitalism is involved in all this.

Also, I only read Nietzsche and Ayn Rand.
