I notice that the far(ther) right catches a lot less heat than more moderate libs for being anti-materialist (to be fair, anti materialism is one of the major failures of liberals whereas chuds have a lot more awful shit going on).
Take this common talking point for example: they don't even believe that politics is or should be a way to secure material gains. In fact, they consider it actively dishonorable to offer people anything real, because to them the right way to do politics is not to help them in any way but to hurt the people they don't like. To me this is a level of liberal brain worms that not even the worst establishment Democrats reach.
edit: obviously, there's an exception for the wealthy ones, who are in fact voting in their material interest
I'm going to bring tangible improvements to people's lives
Ok? Fuck off weirdo.
I am as angry as you are about Arbys adding vegan burgers or some shit
LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.
It should be mentioned that the right has no problem "buying" votes when it comes to realpolitik. A lot of bourgeois politics is about cuddling "moderate" swing voters, for instance by handing out tax cuts to home owners. Or how Margaret Thatcher bought votes by selling council housing at reduced prices.
giving bribes and actually helping people are the same, actually,
You're bribing everyone with the promise of a better life!
Asking for money in an inherently unequal economic system is the same as helping people to get support.
