One thing that surprises me is the wide range of opinions and how incredibly stupid every one of them is.
I was expecting a mixture of "both sides" and outright fascism, and both those things are there, but there's so much more to discover.
Here's one of my favorites:
I think it's because the Left still takes it cues from the glory days of the sixties. "Fight the power! Down with the military industrial complex! Up the people!" So they see powerful Israelis in uniforms (eek!) and tanks and all against the poor little guy in shirt sleeves and jeans and their knee jerk reaction is to side with the downtrodden.
I love the complete lack of any explanation as to why this isn't obviously correct
This dipshit got 154 upvotes, what a cesspool. This perspective ('leftists only like the underdogs!') is echoed / upvoted so many times that it appears to be the dogma of the subreddit. What a bunch of maroons.
God the whole fucking thread is "I don't know anything about the situation, but I do know that I am very smart, and that having a definite politics is simply a pathology."
That whole subreddit is fash trash. Very few of them exhibit anything more than a smartass middle school redditor-level understanding of history / political theory. It reeks of white male privilege: people who have been kowtowed to their entire lives, and became self-important because of it, and now they want to pontificate like anyone would value their opinions except for some D-tier backwater opinion farm.
They're literally these people
(The rare decent political SNL sketch)
To verify the validity of this statement, wait until China overtakes America in the 2030s and see if the Left starts supporting America.
