Between anti natalist edge, people not knowing when it's okay to be openly horny and lol random Shrek posting I truly feel like I'm back in Jr. High and Jr. High fucking sucked.

The antinatalist post made me realize the internet should just be permanently deleted because there's too many people who find out about stupid philosophies and end up thinking "you know I think it would be best if we just killed everything"

Except antinatalism isn't a stupid philosophy, literally any argument you could have against it, there's a logical, reasonable counter. I'm not here to convince you otherwise, I don't give a fuck if you like it or not, but it ain't stupid.

It has nothing to do with sterilization. People can decide to breed if they want, no one is forcing ppl to stop breeding. What antinatalists are saying is that if you bring life into this world, there will ALWAYS be some degree of suffering, then the philosophy goes on to discuss whether suffering is worth procreation. It would help if y'all actually took time to research this from an antinatalist perspective.

I'd rather adopt a kid and try to give them the best life they could have, instead of bringing life into this world. It's all about reducing and ending suffering. I'm not motivated by some banal shit like passing on my genes or that I need to keep life going to find some meaning in this shit world.

It's not about getting rid of ppl, it's about ending procreation. There is no one to get rid of if there's absolutely no way one can be conscious about life before their birth, or that there even is life. It boils down to

              1. Do you want to continue life, which guarantees suffering?

              2. Stop procreating and completely end suffering.

But is it not inherently defeatist stance? Current existence (under capitalism) is suffering, therefore won’t procreate? Like, easier to conceive end of the world than capitalism type shit

It's not defeatist at all, it's questioning whether prolonging life is even worth it. I learned about antinatalism BEFORE I became a leftist, and I'm still here with y'all fighting for socialism, a better life. But even then there are comrades who are also antinatalists that recognize that ultimately, to completely end suffering would be to end life.

I do. See, when I bring up antinatalism I get reactionary shit like ppl telling me it's a stupid and fucked up philosophy. If they're not gonna listen, who am I to keep forcing the issue onto them? Obviously I'd tell my partner and adopted kid not to procreate, and anyone that's open to the philosophy, what decision they make is on their own. Me, I'd go happily knowing I was never the cause of prolonged suffering in this world. It's as simple as that.

I saw a sticker the other day that had the second 20 crossed out with a 24 sticker over it, so it looked awkward like Trump 2024

Maybe? The semiotics also references Pence and they really hate him.

Trump should already be selling "Trump 2024" signs at his websites. Month after month he'd get free advertising on Fox News, OANN, etc. Anchors would intone "How much do ya really support our president? Ya gotta have at least one on your lawn!..."

I bet he could sell 10,000s of this authentic Trump merch at - I dunno - ~$10 a piece. That would be ~$9 from each one going right into Trump's pocket.

His store currently has "Save America" merch which like you predicted does not include the name Pence.

It's a shame Trump doesn't have a real sense of humor. He could sell a cartoon that's clearly Pence getting drawn - as in drawn and quartered. And then Trump could lie about it: "It's not Pence. It a cartoon and some people like cartoon. It's just a cartoon about a man getting stretched 'cause that's what happens when you don't support me. Believe me, believe me."

See I don't think he's going to run in 2024. I mean he might, who knows, but if I was him I'd be happy being the king maker of the republicans, their version of Obama for the dems.

I don't think it would hurt him at all to sell 2024 merch - whatever his plans. His supporters are marks. He can say anything and they'll believe it.

I do believe that his supporters and the rest of the GOP faithful will just become a reactionary miasma hell-bent on owning the libs. Whatever makes life worse for the rest of us is a positive to them.

Whatever makes life worse for the rest of us is a positive to them.

Their politics is now nearly 100% rage, grievance, revenge, and anger. They will be insane with joy if next year the GOP justices destroy Roe by letting states forbid abortion. And that will most likely happen. This action will eventually also wreck some of their own lives - but they are beyond sanity.

Last year when Trump came out against masks - I actually thought that was going to be a bridge too far. I have no idea why I thought that. I've been calling Trump's base a cult since 2017 and it was clear to me sometime after that - that the entire GOP base is Trump cultists even if they are too shy to admit it.

Why did I think they weren't willing follow Trump into the abyss? I don't have an answer. Somehow my negativity failed me and some hopeful light shined through.

When it became clear the GOP was going to stay against masks - I knew we were most likely doomed. You can't have a functioning democracy when 10,000,000s of people are cultists. A cult of just 10 people can be dangerous enough.

I don't think Biden and the dems will kill the filibuster. And I'm nearly 100% Biden won't pack the court. I assume 2022 will be a shitshow for the dems. And in 2024 the GOP will win big and it will be the beginning of fascism in the US.

I will say that there's definitely merit to the idea that consent as we understand it doesn't exist in the way we think it does under patriarchy, but I have no idea if that user was making that kind of argument.

Yeah um, hmmmmmmm, not really sure how you justify that one. All sex under capitalism/patriarchy/other oppressive system is non consensual? Sure, there's something there. All sex, in the abstract, in all circumstances?! Not even the most radical feminist would claim something like that.

The neighborhood six-year-olds have apparently discovered each other and decided to have a shouting match about it :ohnoes:

Right now they're riding scooters up and down the road making siren noises and pretending to be emergency response vehicles - which is actually quieter than the shouting they were doing before
