This music is great! It must be because of these capital intensive goods which I use to play the music not the human and social society which produced it.

Hard disagree. People are prone to having all kinds of niche interests, and these will continue to exist even in a communist future. I believe such a future would allow you to pursue them even more freely. What is problematic here, just like in any other hobby under capitalism, is the tiered quality, separated by price point and the inevitable smugness that comes by being one of the few that have the high quality expensive stuff. But again, people will find something to be smug about even after we achieve communism.
the amount of mechanical keyboards i'd buy if they weren't so expensive :deeper-sadness:
i fell down that hole, the cure is to realize if you're gaming, it's not really that vital. If you're a writer, maybe just get a Realforce with Topre Switches, or if you're a programmer, just get an HHKB, or find that weird need youre tryin to fufill, like i made a split ortho keyboard, and i really dont NEED another keyboard because this is actually pretty comfortable.
Buy Zealios, then wonder why you droped $60-70 on just switches alone and what you got out of it.

seems like assembling a kit would be the cheapest, or sometimes, only option. some kits run $150, and without switches and keycaps.

Check out the Redragon K552, Havit KB487L, Logitech K840/K845, or the Velocifire VM01. They're all generally available for under $50.

I insist on white alps switch. No other will work.
buckling springs or die
Check out the used market if you can, I got a $80 keyboard for $40
This is the best take. There's probably a $10 difference in manufacturing cost for $30 headphones vs a $300 pair. Without the profit motive everyone could have awesome headphones that are built to last and easily repairable.
