IIRC entry to the contest is based on whether you use a certain broadcasting platform or w/e based in Europe, so I think North African countries have competed before.

Disagree. Britain usually takes it somewhat "seriously", like, they're not trying to troll the competition or be weird cringe on purpose, which actually works very well very frequently. That's why they fail all the time. This one however was a bit too embarrassing in the wrong way.

I didn't think it was that great tbh but it wasn't the same as all the other ones. It usually helps to stand out and usually they fail to do that.
