Can you really do reparations in a capitalist society? Like, it feels like you're just going "Sorry for slavery, here's a cheque that will immediately be paid to an insurance company or used for next month's rent. Don't ask for anything ever again."
Not that it wouldn't be bad to give financial support to people who need it but still seems like it wouldn't really fix anything in the long run.
Doesn't matter how much you donate, it'll always end up in a capitalist's coffer. Without dismantling the system of extraction, throwing any money in just makes the extraction worse.
