The knowledge that pretty much every problem and tragedy faced by everyone I know is linked directly or indirectly to the capitalist mode of production is level 1 forbidden knowledge, but it's still enough to drive me insane every day

It is super sketchy that he was in Dallas and he claims to now know what he was doing, but I don't know how to convey this to someone without coming across as a total conspiracy crank.

I think a lot of conspiracies spread in the us are intentionally easy to debunk so that people inherently believe that the real ones are also fake. Sort of like exposing someone to a weak virus so their body can kill the strong one.

Yeah they definitely do this, it's really fuckin easy to spread misinformation and conspiracy theories are prime for that. They've also infiltrated conspiracy theory groups too, and pushed some people to do illegal shit.

They have no problems joining political groups or movements either, seems like it's incredibly likely they'd join any fringe or up and coming movement to sabotage things, no matter how minor or major

And then he just happens to be VP during an assassination attempt, and we're not supposed to think he was sending a message? Come on, man.

Oh sorry I thought his connection with lovecraft was fairly well known. His paranoid realizations about the all pervasive nature of capital and "teleoplexy" lead to a progressively debilitating amphetamine abuse (may be putting the cart before the horse there lmao) in which he started getting really into Lovecraft-esque mysticism centered around shit like numerology and "speaking with entities" from ancient Lemuria, a sort of libertarian anti-atlantis which he derived from Lovecraft lore. The last few essays in fanged noumena sort of drive the point home, he's gone by then and clearly experiencing acute psychosis. It reads almost like he wrote himself into a Lovecraft story where the monster is capital.

Reading the ramblings of a lunatic sounds kinda fun, but meh.

I remember that actor with the high pitched voice that was in Princess Bride and was Rex from Toy Story, he is a marxist and has a good quote about this with Commodity Fetishism, where it just completely melted him for a couple of months because its just everywhere and seeing it everywhere until it just subtly falls back into the shadows until you remember the phrase.

I do it with "primitive accumulation" which to me is just robbery. Like stealing in its most base form to create the capitalist mode of production. Its such a fancy word for such a simple concept, but its distinct and all the more impactful for it.
