The inability (and often, active refusal) of people to separate out behaviors off the internet is really embarrassing. I have no doubt she's getting threats, because basically every single outspoken person with over 50k followers does regardless of topic or position it seems, but one person calling you a fart doesn't have any sort of responsibility or moral fault for another completely separate person doing something else unrelated.

There isn't some 500,000+ people organized group who all got together and voted to call you fart and send you threats, they are all completely and utterly distinct individuals and very very few have connections to someone else.
