I mean, there's a pretty obvious reason for this in terms of preventing everyone from all trying to vote at ten minutes before 7pm, which is exactly what would occur absent this system. But just one hour? Lol come on now.

Anyway, if the election occurs online I am now more sure than ever that the US deep state's chosen candidate will emerge victorious.

Voting on the internet is just hilarious and I'm constantly surprised at how many supposedly tech savvy posters don't see the obvious problems.

Vote by mail is the obviously best choice, but all systems have flaws, and it's impossible to trust elections in the 21st century if you think about them at all.

Vote by mail is not the best choice because there's no way to verify whether people cast their vote under duress

It's a good thing in general, the pros wildly outweigh the cons but ideally you still want as many people in a voting booth as possible

Yeah, this looks like a social distancing guidelines. With the masked lady and all. That's why there's the block for the elderly.

If Castillo loses I hope the ML party doesn't back down, and actually does Leninist things

MLs are generally not supposed to win bourgeoisie elections, but instead gain enough support to take over

What, are you sure this is true? The hour windows seem to be just recommended. Check the website on that image and use google translate, it says use recommended hours to avoid crowds. (https://www.onpe.gob.pe/modElecciones/elecciones/2021/SEP/)

As far as I can tell, these are just recommended hours, yes. Seems like it’s just a way to control volume since, if I remember correctly, Peru has compulsory voting.

If the goal was to make it as easy as possible to vote, at minimum you'd have the polls open for 48 straight hours on a weekend. If you really care about elections, the additional cost/hassle would be trivial, and if you're concerned about early reporting swinging results you could just bar any reporting on it until Monday. And I'm not even fully on the "liberal democracy is a scam" train.

Not sure if this is it amigo. The site lists these as recommended hours to keep the polls from being overwhelmed, I think.

Peru has compulsory elections (not sure if it’s a holiday or anything) and you face some heavy fines for flaking. More time would always be great, but I’m not sure if this is as bad as you think.

And like Castillo isn't great. He's got homophobic and misogynistic policies.

But fucking christ, can the world at least get a bigot who at least wants to tell the US to fuck off and build some material relief for the people, instead of the bigot who wants to pardon her literal fascist dad and do America's bidding

They could get a full 24 hour period (including the 2 hour break) of voting if they used a duovigesimal number system for their IDs
