They were gonna lose the election anyway but this shit really did not help. So much so that the tory leader apologized for it after the election and said she regretted it. I’m assuming she meant regretted the impact it had on the election and nothing more.
They need to take cues from the federal branch of the party and be more subtle, like campaigning on 14 words.

Oh it gets worse. The original tweet where they unveiled that slogan, if one excludes hashtags and emojis, had exactly 14 words and 88 characters.
