Arguing with some conservative on reddit. I mentioned that I'm a socialist and he keeps asking me how much money I make. I gave a joke answer and then said my non-answer "confirms his "suspicions that" I'm a "well-to-do Karen who wants to tell others how to live but not how you should live". Then he said I'm not really a socialist but just a busybody with bad advice.
Do conservatives think Karens are leftists? Anyone bored and feel like reading my exchange with this dude? Either for a laugh or to help me figure out what the fuck he's talking about? Would it be bad to link to the reddit thread in here?
if you make bank own it! conservatives love wealthy people. tell him capitalism has deemed you (a wealthy person) better than him. and tell him because you make bank you're not a socialist due to envy.
"Karen" has been moving toward being a synonym for "bitch" for a while now. Wasn't the original meaning, but it won't be long before that's overshadowed imo.

i think this may be one of those, 'understands a thing like a dog" where they get the tone, but not the message. karen = bad + details, is probably the extent of their thinking.
The wild thing is that if you made less than average he'd accuse you of wanting free handouts. Honestly making above average does give you more moral authority in this conversation, as (in his mind) you'd be less likely to personally gain from socialism.
Like honestly what he's saying doesn't even make sense. He is using the trope that if you're successful under capitalism you're not allowed to criticize it.
