‘The Wandering Earth’ offered an important perspective on climate change and capitalism, but the West’s reviews of the movie are distracted by a techno-Orientalist fear of China.

Always thought the movie was just another disaster blockbuster and didn't see it. But this review makes it seem kinda good.

    It's pretty good. It's a disaster blockbuster in that it's overwhelming and overstimulating, but the themes it explores make it fresh.

    Honestly, I'm a huge Cixin Liu fan and this movie really didn't do it for me. Definitely was disappointed, especially since the Rememberance of Earth's Past trilogy is incredible. I wanted to love it, but I think I enjoy his written work much more.
