it's a movie about the UK's longest-serving prisoner, Charles Bronson. it's very individual-focused but is honest at times that prison is an awful place. idk what does everyone else think

    It's a good flick, strong Tom Hardy performance. While it does show how shitty British jails were, given the structure of the movie (a biopic), rather than a systemic criticism of the prison system, a better tack would be the use of solitary confinement. He went through a LOT of solitary confinement, which didn't help his already fragile psyche.

    He's such an outlier in terms of his willingness and ability to engage in physical violence that it's hard to use him as the basis for a systemic critique.
