What the fuck. I just finished season 2 episode 3 of Blowback and the US admitted that shit. Like, quiet part out loud and everything. I suppose they were able to keep it under wraps for 60 years because the US public was so inundated with propaganda (those godamn news clips on Cuba from the early 60s were so cartoonishly absurd they made me laugh) or because no one gave a fuck. But this episode genuinely made me angry. I was told my whole life that Castro was a ruthless dictator who killed his own people, and today I heard a clip of a president of the United States admitting that Castro needed to be taken out because he was affecting US business interests.
Fucking mob boss shit. Also, why don't people listen when you give them give them undeniable proof of the CIA doing horrendous shit?

Because you said something vaguely sympathetic about a country the capitalists have told them is evil, they call you a tankie and discard your opinion
And for land reform we put them under a blockade THAT'S STILL GOING ON
The whole series had me grinding my teeth and weeping for the peace we could have had. Fuck the CIA.
It's seriously like shit you'd see in the godfather
Like the moment he even slightly backed off the extreme American red scare position, they disposed of him. It's really wild to think about
No they didn't. JFK was the platonic ideal of a cold war president for the CIA. Why on earth would they kill him.
The generals advising Kennedy to invade thought the soviets would be too chickenshit to retaliate.
