DSA has been explicitly against the venezuela sanctions since they started. And in my experience the average DSA person is to the left of the "national coalition whatever thing" which is to the left of (most of) their endorsed candidates
Well I wasn't referring to the DSA in particular. I was thinking of other congresspeople who self-describe as democratic socialist but can't consistently oppose imperialism.
Where's DSA more broadly on this issue for that matter, where are the protests against these genocidal sanctions now that we have a president who at least pretends to be a decent person? Easier to just be the AOC fan club I guess
DSA international committee is good, dragging the rest of the org along.
But any rep can call themselves a democratic socialist despite being super lib and not particularly anti-imperialist without any repercussions. That's something the DSA should work on: having standards for endorsement and de-endorsement, distinguishing themselves as anti-imperialist, etc. When AOC doubles down on going after Maduro, there must be criticism and distance to avoid guilt by association.

If you're going to bring up consistency, I'm wondering how this guy voted or acted on whatever bills or other things you have in mind.
