In a population of only 1.8 million Latvia renders 300,000 ethnic Russians as "non-citizens" who do not have rights

Alla Berezovska is one of roughly 300,000 so-called "non-citizens" in Latvia. She is not allowed to vote, nor to hold public office. She's also not allowed to work for the police or the fire brigade.

In addition to rendering an ethnicity stateless the current Latvian State parades SS and Werhmacht troops through their cities each year

Defending History( a site dedicated to fighting to nazis and against holocaust revisionism etc.) has an entire category on Latvia and documents them celebrating their nazi collaborators, setting up monuments to Nazis, trying to shut down holocaust museums and the many ways of them glorifying their SS collaborators

I used to think /r/Europe was pretty enlightened, and had a few really good posters I would follow. Then one time the topic of gypsies came up and boy, these exact same people just went full on Jim Crow, explaining how they didn't pay tax, stole, and polluted everywhere they went. I was flabbergasted. When I objected, I was told I was a stupid American who had no experience with them and I should shut up. Boy, that was an eye-opener. So much of their superiority complex is an easily pierced façade.

You fools. You all fail to see that the Nazis were National Socialists. They are the exact same as the Soviets.

The Nazis were bad, but also the Soviets were worse and the Nazis were good actually and we picked the wrong side. Now let me tell you about how South African apartheid was good.

I just remember a Corner Späti map (joke) of Europe and the Baltics were labeled “Stalin was worse than hitler”

I didn’t really have a frame of reference to appreciate it at the time, but the more I see the more it seems to be accurate
