Imagine not using LibreOffice to write code. I doubt you can add colors or change the font with emacs. Or add some WordArt.

I like Visual Studio Code. I know that most emacs users are boomers and unable to learn new things, but really, we have better tools today. Please don't ban me.

tbh spacemacs is pretty neat. You're right emacs users are essentially boomers, but there are also young ones. I'm in my early twenties for example.

This is me. I prefer to pound nails with a hammer, not a chiseled piece of granite.

As far as emacs kits go, doom emacs is what hooked me. There's some exciting speed changes upcoming with Emacs27, too, thanks to the native json processor that will make the LSP run much faster.

Vim is better if you need to edit something in a terminal for some dumb reason.

Otherwise use like... anything. Notepad++. Gedit. An IDE.

I really REALLY wish nano was replaced as the only non-vim editor that most linux installs come from, because nano has objectively awful keybinds. Micro, for example, is nano but normal keybinds.

You don't even really need to keep nano around for backwards compatibility, no one uses nano in scripts or anything and no one who uses nano to edit configs over ssh or whatever is going to have trouble adapting to micro! Please just do it!

There is no system but GNU, and Linux is one of its kernels.

I don't have room in my brain to memorize more commands I'll just stick with vim I guess
