Something I heard Hasan say the other day. Being trans isn't a mental illness, being anti-trans is a mental illness. Because once you actually start looking into gender and realise its a social construct, you subconsciously start transvestigating people all around you and assuming they are trans (for actions/thoughts/feelings that are normal for heteros)

    Horribly paraphrased of course

mental illnesses harm the affected people most of all. Not the case with transphobia except in some select regions

Yeah, I agree. The equivocation doesn't really add anything to it, it just stuck with me. Thanks for pointing that out.

It's hard to measure what he actually achieves for the worse, but being a divorced freak is still less bad than being violenced

like, going down the transphobia rabbithole harms them pretty bad. the social isolation from caring too much about a niche issue is real.

being a seen as a weirdo by the KKKlub is still not as bad as being on the receiving end of the Daily Sturmer Propaganda imo

ehh, the transvestigators are too obsessed with tracking all the ways in which every single cis person ever is actually trans to pose much of a danger to us. the politicians and klan types who aren't obsessive scare me more. the ones who are incidentally transphobic wind up doing way more violence.

even unhinged nazis are still nazis and thinking they are legitimately ill is wrong, except if you count bullets as medicine

Milo said something similar about TERFism in the UK. TEFFism will take over your entire life, even if you're otherwise a normal person.

i'm like a transvestigater but cool (i assume like 90% of the people i run into are trans but it's just because i'm looking for people like me. and crucially i don't do anything but feel good in the knowledge that i'm not alone)
