Also, "Revolution" to wag their fingers at the violent, agitating leftists who were challenging the status quo oh-so rudely (during the year of the MLK riots and just before Stonewall, no less).

Then you remember that Paul McCartney supports Israel, just to add more oomph to the liberalism.

Yeah don't you dare carry pictures with Mao on them despite the fact that he liberated tens of millions of people, because people won't listen to you.

I'm convinced if Lennon was alive today he would be an absolutely insufferable lib. Paul is too worried about what people think of him to be too obnoxious about it.

I have no idea what they even meant by that line. Don't carry pictures of Mao or you're not going to make it? Mao, the actual person, was part of a successful revolution.

I'm almost positive what he was meant was people who go around spouting their political ideologies are nerds who can't get laid.

One for the hall of fame.

Right up there with "Shaq Misses Entire Second Half With Pulled Pork Sandwich."

Also, this conclusion to a story about a former buffalo wing eating champion down on his luck:

"He's still more than good enough to compete, but with this lifetime ban, there's really nowhere for him to go," says Rierden's former trainer and IFOCE contender Rick "The Tummy" Mickelson. "Chris is like Icarus. He flew too close to the sun and then ate his own wings."

I moderately like The Beatles, but their social messaging and signaling is fucking stupid. Turns out, you need a whole lot fucking more than just love. Speaking of John - he particularly hated the concept of average people doing average things.

I love that conservatives at the time thought their bowl cuts were far too long to wear on men and also their lyrics were the epitome of Satanic communist brain washing.

Heck, it even turns out that no one should base their personal philosophy on a song that's just a series of tautologies. There's nothing you can make that can't be made? Thanks for the pep talk John Lennon!

While we are talking Beatles songs, is "She Loves You" from the point of view of an incel that got rejected by a girl in love with his friend? The yeah yeah yeahs are so flat and sarcastic. What a weird song to be their breakthrough hit.

At least Back In The USSR was pretty based

They really didn't know how lucky they were until Gorbachev broke everything

      pedantic mode activate

all of the Beatles were born before the baby boom

They're the silent generation and unfortunately they didn't live up to their generation's name

I value your input, but want to highlight that the generational cohorts we create don't follow the cutoffs by years (even though some defining features are within them). It is true that they aren't completely grounded in the boomer generation, however if you look at the chart:

        https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/6/66/US_Birth_Rates.svg/1280px-US_Birth_Rates.svg.png

They were actually part of the last rise before the Boomers came to be and thus (and in their predatory nature targeting the Boomer women) the sociological experiences of the Boomers aren't that far related. Though they might've experienced at least some bombing during their childhood and lived with rationing for a couple of years.
