Hope you enjoy your agonizing death from the upcoming super-covid! :)

We're in this for the long haul, and the only way this flight's gonna end is in a 600 mile an hour vertical nosedive straight into the ground, but the libs are making a dash for the doors like they just heard the seatbelt sign go off after arriving at the gate.

Edit: I am so sorry. I did not know that complaining about everyone abandoning masks because "COVID is over" would incite such backlash. Fuck me I guess. This was all a personal attack and not in any way a criticism of a broader trend. I'm such a doomer. Anyway, everything is fine

You still need to wear a mask even with the vaccine. It's an utter failure of our public health services that people think otherwise

I can clearly remember some public health person---Redfield, maybe; p sure it was not Fauci---testifying in Congress (I think) like last fall/winter, saying that even when the vaccines come around, he would still be wearing a mask because not everyone can be vaccinated and the mask is simple and effective.

        But here we are now.

Some people literally can't — my wife is immunocompromised in a way that getting the vaccine would potentially be very dangerous for her. And covid would probably kill her.

With all the restrictions lifted and people like you refusing to do the bare minimum like wear a fucking mask and socially distance, it's even more dangerous for her to go out and about than it ever has been. Between the lack of evidence that vaccinated people don't still spread covid and the unvaxxed people who lie so they don't have to wear a mask (the vent diagram of anti maskers and antivaxxers is a circle), the more infectious variants circulating, plus cases rising again and hospitals strained, it's really much less safe for her. We basically haven't left the house since last february. And we're lucky that I can work remotely and we can get by on just my income — if she had to keep working her customer service job after extended UI got rolled back with all this shit going on, she'd be dead by now.

The rollback of mask mandates is a public health policy failure. And it's not lib to shame people for their personal choices when their personal choices actively endanger those around them.

“ people like you refusing to do the bare minimum like wear a fucking mask and socially distance” um what?

What kind of health problem makes it so you can’t get the vaccine? I haven’t heard of this before. That sucks for you guys I’m sorry.

Where I am there are mask mandates in stores and on planes/airports etc still. Everyone still has to wear masks indoors.

Autoimmune disorder that can be triggered by regular immune responses and causes issues like the rare-but-very-serious vaccine side effects, which require long-term stays in the ICU, brushes with death even when the healthcare workers aren't super strained, and literal multi-million dollar hospital bills.

Yeah there's no mask mandate here anymore whatsoever and I live in a "good" part of the States. The attitude is pretty much just "well just get vaccinated if you're so worried" because it's available, and a big fuck-you to the people who can't (who of course are the people that covid is most dangerous for). I get very angry about it.

I’m sorry to hear that. What precautions did you guys have to take before covid started? I assume other viral infections like colds and flus can also be super dangerous.
