On a long enough timeline they will eventually convince the US government to build a Gundam. Maybe General Dynamics will do it, doesnt matter. Its the inevitable trajectory we are on. The only reason why they haven't yet is the execs dont know what a Gundam is.
The main purpose of a mobile suit's design is mobility in and around O'Neill cylinder space colonies. Until these are developed, there won't be a need for a Gundam.The chance is slim enough that statistically speaking it's more likely the US will collapse before Lockheed Martin designs a Gundam 😔
