Lockpicking is fun. I worked nights at a plant being commissioned so I had tons of time to wander the facility alone and find random locks to pick. In my experience there are two kinds of locks: Zero skill and everything else. It's surprising how many times you'll run into a lock that can be opened in seconds with a simple rake attack. It's also surprising how many locks just fall apart when you try to pick them. Like, the core just falls out when you dig a little too deep and dislodge whatever is retaining it. It also gives you something to do with your hands while watching a movie or whatever. Also people love talking with you about it and you can shut them up for at least half an hour if you give them your kit and a lock to play with.
