Just wait for the lambda variant of covid starts hitting the US hard. It's already confirmed to be in several states, Texas reported their first case of the lambda variant two days ago. Look at what the lambda variant did to Peru, which now has which has the highest Covid-19 case fatality rate and deaths per capita in the world due to it. Lambda wasn't much of concern until recently, I didn't think it was a problem until pre-prints of studies show that lambda covid can infect cells more readily. There just isn't much research on lambda because it hasn't spread outside of Peru and into the west until now. The combination of lambda and delta variant spread is going to be a one-two punch in the worst of ways, similar to the combination of delta + beta variant spread in South Africa.
