Where can I learn what exactly is a "tankie" and why is it always used against communist?
i could be wrong but i believe it comes from the derogatory word for the british communist party's support of the USSR invasion of hungary in 1956, which used tanks or something. i personally didn't know that the word existed until the anarchist vs ML struggle sessions back on the old chapo subreddit. it's supposed to be a derogatory word for "authoritarian" communists, but the word keeps getting used by libs who don't know what the word means and so any mild socialist is a tankie, and even anarchists (like me) are called tankies.
