I've seen in recent days that countries like Mexico, Nicaragua , and Russia are sending humanitarian aid to Cuba.

I'm just curious, how do they do that without violating the embargo?

      iirc even if they're carrying stuff exempted from the sanctions, boats and planes that enter Cuba are not allowed to land in the US for like 6 months

      Food used to be pretty lax in the 80s but not anymore, exporting medicine is technically allowed (because doing otherwise is internationally considered a siege and an act of war) but the company involved needs to pass an inspection and a written permission from the President of the US, the payment must be made in cash in US dollars before shipment and through some non-American bank, and the shipping company must go straight from a US port to a Cuban port and back with no layovers.
