Both the USSR and the Chinese anthems slap harder than the internationale

Under communism, all clothes dryers must be destroyed. Such a massive waste of energy to accomplish something that could be done literally for free.

nah do it like Alexandra Kollontai suggested and build centralized municipal laundry facilities that use HUGE washers and dryers so it's way more efficient. just imagine how nice it would be to have the socialist city mailman drop off your clean laundry free of charge* every week.

*paid via the expropriation and utilization of former capitalist-owned property

Its a little hard to dry clothes outside in a rainy humid climate. I once dried clothes overnight in a -20 below situation, clothes were stiff, had a layer of wet and smelled like freezer. Other than that they were ok but dryers have their use. Maybe cheaper communal laundry mats that are well maintained with better hours?

The billy Bragg internationale lyrics are worse than the original ones translated from French (I believe?)

Caffeine is toxic, just depends the dosage. It also creates a dependence, all these people needing coffee or other caffeinated products to start their day instead of facing the world sober like me.

While I get why the March of the Volunteers is the anthem given how extremely important the war against Japan was to forming a modern Chinese identity, I still think Ode to the Motherland is the better fit as a national anthem.

I disagree. When it comes to lyrics, maybe. March of the Volunteers has that iconic jingle at the start and slaps harder IMO.

Don't really get the point of trolleybuses. Might as well build an actual tram/train line.

I hate that you made me think about that schoolmarm. She left my memory quite some years ago, after much wishing this would happen.
