Was it her that said we need more women and people of color reviewing movies? A lot of people took that as no white people ever should review movies 🙄

She said that she wanted to interviewed by more than "white dudes".

      I vaguely remembered that.

the quote that made the gamers mad (I think) was: "I don’t need a 40-year-old white dude to tell me what didn’t work about A Wrinkle in Time. It wasn’t made for him! I want to know what it meant to women of color, biracial women, to teen women of color.”

she follows it up with “Am I saying I hate white dudes? No, I am not. What I am saying is if you make a movie that is a love letter to women of color, there is an insanely low chance a woman of color will have a chance to see your movie, and review your movie.”

So she made a good point basically (about how all film reviewers are white guys, which is quite accurate) and the gamers' takeaway was that Brie Larson called for white genocide

Mayos are just overly sensitive in general, while projecting their whinging and entitlement onto others

Ah ok, I think that sort of comment was the last thing I remember that really got under their skin
