What were they thinking?!
They were thinking "Horny cis dudes are our cash cow"
Now comic book women have pronouns, ugh the west has truly fallen.
listen sometimes you just gotta do villainy on a budget, not everybody has a brightly colored spandex suit or an evil dress with a high collar they can just pull out of the closet for a quick round of evil misdeeds
Really just go rob a damn department store, won't take more than a few seconds, she has superpowers.
Oh yeah, Emma Frost. She's not even the worst of it. Marvel and DC comics are filled with fanservice like this. Tigra is a furry who walks around in a purple bikini sleeping with men and making out with random civilians.
It got really bad in the 80's and 90's when any woman was drawn like a pornstar and would make seductive poses when doing something as dull as hanging laundry to dry.
Oh yeah.. I remember the "i've got fifteen extra vertabrae and can twist my torso around 180 degrees" poses.
Is this an actual released cover?
Basic-ass Trajan font with crappy bevel and drop shadow effect?
Yet somehow they look supported. Maybe she just froze her own tits or something
Also damn her underwear is digging in
this sucks, it's not even trying to be a costume it's just generic lingerie
She's also i think a really interesting charachter. Morally grey in an interesting way. Love her genuine love for her students. Love her dynamic with Kitty. Lots of good charachter stuff with her.
Also true - she's just been inconsistent at times, which is of course consistent with any X-Men character
True for most of them but ive commented before that Scott, in the overall sense, sort of accidentally has a really good charachter arc. Like to a weird extent with so many different writers. From idealist boyscott who believed in Xaviers vision to based mutant terrorist, because his experiances changed him.
Examining him on his own hell yeah, maybe I just let the framing by the authors hard pushing “Scott did everything wrong” for years get to me instead of enjoying based mutant terrorist Scott contrary to what the comic author may intend.
*any comic character
Most of these characters are at least 40 years old and have had dozens of writers.
I’m aware, the X-Men have just been my favorite since I was a child and damn have the writers flip flopped on what they should embody ideologically. It’s egregious for me since they are ostensibly representative of minority (gender, ethnic, sexual, etc.) struggles and are often so close to having great messages and politics only for the next iteration to lib it up again 😔
I personally really like the "one mutant sepratist nation" thing they had going on last i checked in though.
If there's one thing I've learned from Vampirella, the contents might actually be good. But like, I don't have the patience for comics. Rather just read a book.

Her villain origin story is that she got fired from her job as Victoria's Secret's model and forgot to change before leaving and died of hypothermia.
