If they're technically not lying, the boats are either canoes or John boats. Those would be required to have a boat license if they're over a certain length or size. They want the viewers to think they bought three $20k boats, obviously.
So their "tenant" is either buying old boats to fix them up and sell them, or they are buying boats to fish or do some paddlin' and they sound like someone I'd have a beer with.
