          might be a coincidence, but Parenti wrote “Inventing Reality” two years earlier, and it contained a lot of the same salient points as Manufacturing Consent. Some have suggested that Chomsky plagiarized Manufacturing Consent

          So this is actually provably false. Manufacturing Consent began as a series of articles that were written before Inventing Reality. Parenti actually quotes a few of them in Inventing Reality.
