I wanted him to say "portfolio" very badly because it's the sort of joke I would write and put in the mouth of an MSNBC talking head. I almost convinced myself he actually did say it.

Even if Biden was like whatever the furthest left Americans could hope for. Let's say he passed a $20T infrastructure bill, forgave all student loan debt, implemented heavier taxes on the rich, forced through most SCOTUS who re-overturned abortion so it's legal again, etc. Just imagine everything anyone coped for over the last 4 years now. Hey that's cool!" meanwhile the list of shit he has to do is completely unchecked. Honestly if he had immediately told Israel on Oct 8 like "hey what just happened is horrible. But the US and the world is not going to standby and let you bomb Gaza. It won't be happening" my expectations are so dogshit under the floor that might be like "welp... stopped a genocide... guess there's the lesser evil guy." But he's been the biggest cheerleader for genocide and he's still fucking doing it everyday even when clearly even US military adjacent types are pulling their collars like "ehh I dunno Joey. I don't think I've ever met a single person that gives a shit how the stock market is doing outside of the ruling class. Regular people care a lot more about rent, utilities, food, and transportation costs. The Dems are going to get slaughtered.

Yea I'd give a shit about the stock market if I could take advantage of my companies 401k match but undourtunatly I have to choose between things like that and "having groceries" and "maintaining my car so i can get to work"
Sort of off-topic but for anyone else who bought stocks, Should I start selling? When people get greedy get fearful. I ended up buying some stocks since apparently the system just assumes we're all investors so if that's going to be how I get some of my money back from Wall Street, so be it. I don't like it at all but right now it's a matter of survival even if I have to play along with the capitalists for the time being.
But not even they can have the good times keep going on and on like this, the next crash is right around the corner.
If you are buying stocks for "retirement" (who the fuck knows if that'll pan out, eh) then no, don't sell. Just buy a total stock market fund like VT and never think about it until you're retired. If you need the money in the next 5 years, yes sell right now and don't buy stocks; only do that with long time horizons for your money.
Do these people realize that you have to be financially comfortable enough to make a risky investment before getting anything of actual value from the stock market?
