Yes, this was to be expected but I feel like these things do make me cynical especially when it comes to power and corruption. Is there someone that can share something uplifting about a leftist thing that happened to counter this?

Hat guy won, South America is turning left so hard it's disrupting the Coriolis force, the Communists are at the strongest showing in a decade in Russia, China now has a clear path for the BRI and will almost certainly be able to quell Xinjiang separatism.

And Biden has definitely become the left accelerationist candidate, while Harris has approval ratings so low her chances of becoming president are nil. The Nabisco strike is doing ok. Worker organisation in the west is the highest in 30 years.

It's not nearly enough, too slow, too scattered. But we are rising, failures are now local rather than global, and as US power crumbles left movements will become more viable.

Honestly, the issue with utopianism isn't the aspirations of a blissful utopic society where everyone is happy, but on the insistence of some that if your implementation or progress on and towards socialism doesn't deliver a star trek future to all humans on earth in 30 minutes or less that it's not worth doing anything. It's basically just armchair shit.

I’m a leftist and I’m no longer as sick with covid as I was last week.
