LRAD works because it literally cooks your skin, but there's no way to use microwaves that damage your internal organs without harming the skin first. Plus it would be easy to detect.

I'd think that was probably projection by their parents. Besides, kids are often restless, have mood swings, distracted etc. Then add in that they probably live a pretty cloistered life in small ex-pat enclaves in foreign countries, without speaking the language, due to their parents' sensitive jobs.
