working from home enabled me to provide around-the-clock care to my dying senior dog, buying me many more months of time with my precious baby before she died at home, surrounded by loved ones, in the middle of my workday last week.

But the trade-off is often long hours, more virtual meetings, and blurred lines between work and personal life.

I mean, who's fucking choice was that? Management saw an opportunity to squeeze more productivity out of their employees and gleefully took it - it's not like workers were begging their bosses to take more of their personal time away from them. I prefer not working in an office but if the tradeoff was my boss panopticonning into my home then I'd probably want to go back in.

I’ve lost weight, improved my fitness, been able to cook more and spent more time with my wife. There’s no way I would’ve been able to do it while going to the office.

I’m one of those people tbh, I fucking hate working from home. First, I tend to get really distracted at home and dont get much done. Second, I like my coworkers and I want that social interaction. Just being around smart people and talking about neuroscience shit is fun.

It'd be neat if we just let everyone make important choices like that about their workplace. Someone should write a book about it
