This should have been obvious because they are different words, but since we have people complaining that anything related to the US election should go in c/electoralism, it has become necessary to point this out.

Shitposting about Biden being a doo doo head is not electoralism. Electoralism in our context is attempting to bring about change using the existing institutions of a bourgeois democracy. The reason there's a sub for this is because not everyone thinks this is an effective tactic, not to protect the delicate sensibilities of everyone who doesn't want to hear about an election.

No one's complaining about someone calling Biden a doo doo head. We're complaining about hearing about the US election constantly, especially day to day minutiae like what happened TODAY and what the polls are saying. This is an electoralist focus on politics and it's alienating and stupid.

so electoral shit posting should be in main and serious discussion of campaigns and election in electoralism. Laughing at a Joe stroke has always been a staple of chapo. That seems like a common sense solution to real world problems.

That hasn't been the stuff we've been pushing back on, like I said. People are posting lots of polls and blow-by-blows of the US election process, but not necessarily "seriously".

Regardless of how tedious you find it and while posting minutiae might be evidence of an electoral mindset, it does not in and of itself constitute electoralism. Moreover, the solution is not to use c/electoralism as a containment sub for content you find stupid.
