For the people of Vietnam, who were just beginning to recover from five years of ruthless economic exploitation by the Japanese, the end of World War II promised to bring eighty years of French control to a close. As the League for the Independence of Vietnam (Vietnam Doc Lap Dong Minh Hoi), better known as the Viet Minh, Vietnamese nationalists had fought against the Japanese invaders as well as the defeated French colonial authorities. With the support of rich and poor peasants, workers, businessmen, landlords, students, and intellectuals, the Viet Minh (led by Ho Chi Minh) had expanded throughout northern Vietnam where it established new local governments, redistributed some lands, and opened granaries to alleviate the famine. On September 2, 1945, Ho Chi Minh proclaimed the independent Democratic Republic of Vietnam in Hanoi’s Ba Dinh square. The first lines of his speech repeated verbatim the famous second paragraph of America’s 1776 Declaration of Independence.

France moved in to reassert its colonial dominance over Vietnam which led to the First Indochina War in December 1946, a guerrilla war between France and the Việt Minh. The Việt Minh captured and controlled most of the rural areas in Vietnam which led to French defeat in 1954. The negotiations in the Geneva Conference that year ended the war and recognized Vietnamese independence. The Geneva Accords provisionally divided the country into a northern and a southern zone along the 17th parallel, stipulating general elections scheduled for July 1956 to "bring about the unification of Viet-Nam". The northern zone was controlled by the Democratic Republic of Vietnam and became commonly called North Vietnam, while the southern zone, under control of the French-established State of Vietnam was commonly called South Vietnam.

The United States, however, did not sign the Geneva Accords and stated that it "shall continue to seek to achieve unity through free elections supervised by the United Nations to ensure that they are conducted fairly". In July 1955, the prime minister of the State of Vietnam, Ngô Đình Diệm, announced that South Vietnam would not participate in elections to unify the country. He said that the State of Vietnam had not signed the Geneva Accords and was therefore not bound by it.¿

Failure to unify the country by referendum led to the Vietnam War in 1955. The North Vietnamese People's Army of Vietnam and the South Vietnam-based Việt Cộng guerrilla fought against the military of South Vietnam and were backed by their communist allies, mainly China, the DPRK and the Soviet Union. To prevent other countries from becoming communist in Southeast Asia, the United States intervened in the conflict along with other anti-communist forces from South Korea, Australia and Thailand, who heavily supported South Vietnam militarily. The conflict spread to neighboring countries and North Vietnam supported the Pathet Lao in Laos and the Red Khmers in Cambodia against their respective US-backed governments. By 1973 the United States and its allies had been forced to withdraw from the war, this left South Vietnam alone and it was swiftly overrun by the superior Northern forces.

The Vietnam War ended on 30 April 1975 and saw South Vietnam come under the control of a Provisional Revolutionary Government, which led to the reunification of Vietnam on 2 July 1976, creating the Socialist Republic of Vietnam of today.

@nationalist hello uneducated individual. I can assure you that horse cum won’t help you in the event you get covid. I also read your comments as they were unfolding and you’re either younger than 15 or you’re just dumb and I’m sure it’s the latter considering you have a deep infatuation with the United States referring it to as the best country in the world. American infrastructure is a fuck and it’s only a matter of time till civil unrest unfolds. I’m doxxing myself but I live right next to the Hudson and I was out during Iva and the water was up to my legs and all this and many more storms to come are cause of global warming which major oil companies didn’t want to do shit about cos there’s so much money to be made. In a fraction of the time humanity has been around it is already staring into the face of death.

If horse cum is your thing like sexually then I won’t kink shame but again it’s not gonna protect you from delta or mu but if you get vaxxed there’s a chance your dumbass might live another day to make another alt and to tell us communists that we are actually liberals

Strawman after ad hominem after strawman after lies. I don't have the time for this shit. Natural disasters happen and America has ALWAYS prevailed and came out stronger, and Ivermectin has far more science behind it than a newly made "vaccine."
