This place is pretty nice :)
It's like an actual improvement over old.reddit. Feels more immediate though, really good stuff.
Favorite new thing is that I don't have to refresh anymore to see upvotes/ downvotes and new comments come in
It just happens right before my eyes and is kind of magic and fun
This is the kind of direction the redesign should have taken. Instead, they made it slower, harder to navigate, and more frustrating.
Custom CSS never should have gone away too, that was a ridiculous decision. Reddit grew on empowering users and communities to do their own thing... They completely forgot that in the redesign and actively tried to take away many things that formed a core identity of each community.
It really feels like the community is already here and it's not even the full launch yet
Like the platform (Lemmy) is legitimately better than reddit in almost every single way. Shit actually works, it's much smoother and just plain looks and feels way better. And that's not mentioning the user base, which is obviously way better than reddit. Actually comparing the people here to those on reddit is almost insulting to the users here.
I don't see notifications for replies to comments until I click my inbox
I don't have that problem, maybe ask someone in the feedback community so they're aware of it
it's easy to sort by new now and just keep it to the side. don't need to bother refreshing to be new gang
