Many of the BLM protests have spiraled for the most part to pure revolutionary adventurism and though socialist parties should still engage in the BLM and anti-settler project, awkwardly fighting cops in the street with our current level of organization, or worse providing cover for lumpen and radlibs to violently vent without any organization, is detrimental to the socialist project as a whole. We need to organize and direct the discontent and rage, not merely express it. By way of analogy, without the organization to back up the pressure of the protests, its like one unarmed guy trying to bash down someone's door and at the same time trying to text and wake up the rest of his friends to help, but while that is happening there are twenty people inside with shotguns trying to decide whether to shoot him now or later.

I don't think people are going out there just to fight cops except for the first few nights after a murder when it's still viable.

Most of what I've seen has been regular protest paired with institutional pressure and lobbying.

I think our main material interventions should be arming ourselves, building logistical capacity (medic collectives, food distros, war chests, jail support orgs, etc.) Which is exactly what I've seen anarchists doing.
