Bernie will be put in a cottage in the country where he can peacefully live out his days in awe of what was achieved, and regret that he contributed nothing towards it.

Real Kropotkin and Lenin convo in 1920 vibes.

Lenin: "Comrade, we need your advice on how to get the Workers Soviets to be disciplined in our fight against the Whites. The Czech legion is advancing on key positions and we must increase our infrastructure construction!"

Kroptkin: "Yes your revolution is very impressive, but look! France has some workers co-ops federating! I must focus my full attention on it!"

Putting forth the most milquetoast of milquetoast reforms only to be rejected by the ruling class and radicalizing his supporters is a contribution worth something. Of course, if said ruling class weren't so petty and short-sighted, they could have easily rallied behind Bernie, ridden the wave of (mild) social democracy and kept the whole thing going smoothly for at least a decade or two, thus defeating the entire purpose.
