He wants to abolish the minimum wage, thinks women are inferior to men, and that slaveholders should get reparations for having lost slaves. Y'all if you're in California I hate to tell you but it might be a good idea to :vote:

Tbh if democrats can't even keep California of all places under control, they deserve to lose it. Worthless party.

Right? And if a Republican pop star can come in and accomplish all these awful things in 6 months despite a CA state legislature that's like 3:1 Dem to Republican, we're fucking doomed to the point where I don't want to hear about voting anymore

The exact mechanism of the recall is designed in a way to heavily favor Republicans. They all rally behind one candidate, Elder, while the majority is split between "no recall" and "yes recall, but vote Democrat." And since this isn't even during a congressional election year, the Democratic turn out will be terrible.

Not giving CA libs a pass, but it's a terrible system for recalling elected officials.

It’s a shame the far left in California isn’t more organized cause this is one of the few opportunities they could win since you just need 15-20% of the vote if the recall succeeds. Of course if that happened the legislature would find a way to strip all power from the new governor.

It's far too big of a gamble. If we had any prominent socialist Sawant it could be risky, but the powers that be are deeply entrenched here.

The recall process in general is asinine. To me, if somebody is being recalled, it should be based on their replacement getting at least 50 percent of the vote, not some person who skates by with about 30 percent or so.

For the libs here, if Elder gets his way, you know the next democratic governor won't reverse it. Hell, PSL is literally campaigning against the recall.

CA is already enacting the plan to put the homeless in camps. Like, Elder is terrible, but CA is well along in its plan to put homeless people in concentration camps regardless. There are 3 that I know of in Los Angeles alone and they enjoy broad Democrat support.

I think the democrats are purposely running a terrible campaign so that if Elder wins they’ll get to a of donations to run someone against him next year.

IMO running ads featuring Liz Warren saying that if you have issues with Newsom you’re a Republican just makes me want to vote for the recall, so I guess it’s a good thing I’m no longer a ca resident.
