There are some major differences between the NPC and the IC. The communist caucus actually tried to pass a resolution that gave more independence to the IC and make it more accountable to membership rather than the NPC, but it didn't pass. If the IC had more power over the org, DSA would be much further left overall. Might end up being the focal point for the struggle within the party if NPC tries to crack down on this
