China is literally the furthest country away from Cuba in terms of sea and air lanes. Cuba-bound shipments would have to go through the Suez and Panama canals. Those would be incredibly long supply lines (if not the longest) especially without canal access. Very bad for a military alliance.
Choke points on every direction, West (Suez, South Africa-Antarctica), East (Panama, South America-Antarctica), and even North (Canada, Eastern United States, AMERICOM).
