It makes sense, horror usually represents some sort of underlying social tension or fear, so once socialism allows direct democracy the concerns will be immediately dealt with and won't develop the same way. The only real fear would be invasion, which is more readily assuaged by action flicks.
Even assuming all social tensions are resolved (which is super idealistic), that would just mean there wouldn't be any good horror movies. If nothing else, I think there'll always be a demand from people who want to get spooked and cuddle their SO.
