    We stan a scapegoat king.

Anybody who has some special vitriol for this guy has lost the plot. Last season it was McConnell, before it was Joe Lieberman, bofore that Gingrich or whoever. They're just taking the blame for what every other member would do anyways. The Democrats literally supported this guy against his progressive challenger, when they knew he would take these positions (because they want him to)! But people have that short of a memory or never even heard about that. Stop falling for the constant news cycle churn of this stuff. Become jokerfied. Stop caring about whether the infrastructure bill will pass. Laugh that the empire doesn't even want to improve its own infrastructure.

Paula Jean ran in 2020, got the nomination, and lost by 43 points.

We can hate Manchin and call him a scapegoat (he is) all we want but the idea that any other Democrat could get within 30 points of winning West Virginia is :cope: . People know what they're voting for.

Then they can wait until 2023 because you can't pass legislation during an election year.

But then we should push it back to 2024. We don't want to pass major legislation if we believe the Biden admin will be a one term admin.

I'm just trying to imagine a party member in China seriously suggesting holding off on critical infrastructure spending for 6 months for... reasons(?) and how they'd just immediately get shitcanned because the Chinese government isn't a complete fucking joke when it comes to doing literally anything functional.

How the fuck is an infrastructure bill of all things getting gutted? I know capitalism is inherently self-destructive, but at least a handful of these goons' donors have to realize their empires can't run if the fucking roads fall apart to the point where trucks can't run, right? I feel like we're reaching the point where some Q chud in the House is going to seriously suggest defunding the FAA or something and the Democrats are going to unanimously approve it to appease the parliamentarian spirits or whatever.

It's inexplicable. Plus - if Manchin gets his way - the dems will get gutted in 2022 and Biden will become a half-term president.

They Do. Not. Care. Many members of Congress and wealthy business leaders cannot think further than 5 years in the future and cannot perceive patterns. Adam Smith and pop-economics are "wowee, smart guy stuff".

Many more are rich and simply do not care if public infrastructure collapses. They might even view it as a bonus - if you privatize things, less concern about the plebs crowding around!
